Wu Tao - the Dancing Way

Wednesdays 6 - 7.15pm 7 weeks

Starts: 15th February

Fee: $85

How to enrol:
Click here to enrol online using secure encryption technology.
Click here to use a printable form for mail, fax or personal enrolment.

Course description: Wu Tao - The Dancing Way, Perfect Beauty, Perfect Harmony, Perfect Balance. Wu Tao or The Dancing Way, is a Dance-based therapy that balances and harmonises the flow of Qi (life-force energy in the body). It has its foundations in Oriental Medicine and is a system of healing, with a wholistic philosophy and practice, that restores balance to the person on all levels.

The main form of Wu Tao is a series of dances that balance the Qi. This is achieved by activating and stretching the meridians, which are the pathways through which the Qi energy flows. Each dance, (there are 5) works on balancing two meridians, which belong to a particular element. (eg. Kidney/Bladder Meridians belong to the Water element). The dances are learned and then performed to beautiful melodic music which corresponds with the particular energy and quality of the element for which it is used. The end result is an experience of beauty, harmony and balance, physically, energetically and mentally, during and after performing the dances.

Wu Tao is both movement and stillness. Doing and Being. It encourages the development of these qualities and an experience of being in the flow of the life-force. In Wu Tao, while one is focused on 'doing' the routine with the music, the mind becomes still and the body poised and balanced.Healing and Balance for Body and Soul.

What are the benefits of Wu Tao?

  • It balances and unblocks Qi, creating more energy and the ability to function at optimal health.
  • It strengthens and tones the body, resulting in greater flexibility, muscle tone and strength.
  • It calms the mind, reducing stress on all levels.
  • It brings the divine elements of spirit and body together, allowing a blissful state of oneness to arise.

How is it taught?

The beginner programme is run over a 7 week period so that the dances can be learnt. When they are eventually put together the end result is an experience of beauty, harmonoy and balance -- physically, energetically and mentally. Wu Tao enhances the flow of chi, tones the body and brings you to a place where the mind is free of chatter and you can experience the inner stillness of your own BEING with a sense of deep peace.

Anne Whish-Wilson has a current licence for teaching Wu Tao - the Dancing Way and is an Alternative Health and Healing Practitioner.
