Class preliminary project: jewelly box style treasure chests
Our introductory woodworking course is a great starting point. Perfect for those with little or no woodworking experience wanting to learn more. These introductory level classes are designed to tease your woodworking interest. Learn about the various workshop tools and machines while making basic jewellwery style boxes/ small what-not storage boxes. The course aim is for you to learn some new skills and take home something that ‘you’ have created (because in woodwork we don’t make we ‘create’). The course is relaxed and structured so you have the opportunity to maximise the hands on components.
Your teacher will take you through each step of the process and show you the correct and safe method using a bandsaw, compound mitre saw, linisher, thicknesser, drill press and various machines and tools.
Of course you will also be sanding, drilling, making sawdust and wood shavings, all part of the satisfaction that is woodworking.
These skills can be applied across many wood working projects, not just trinket boxes.
