re Volkstanzfest 2017:-
"Good Morning, Friends of Austrian culture
Some of you may know already, that on the Easter Week-end 2017 (15-18 April), the Harmonie German Club will host the 23rd biennial National Volkstanzfest.  This is the National gathering of dance groups nurturing Austrian, German and/ or Swiss folk dancing heritage.
At the moment, there is unfortunately no dancing group at all in the ACT anymore. Nevertheless, occasionally, people have told me of their interest in such folk dancing, so when I read the attached advert [ viz contact phone: 02 6231 4472; email: folkdancecanberra@gmail.com ] last night for a Bavarian Dance workshop this coming Saturday, this sounded like a great starting point to get something good going in time for Volkstanzfest 2017. To stand a chance on getting sufficient numbers, I believe we have to take an inclusive approach and form one group embracing Austrian, German and Swiss dances for the Volkstanzfest.
If you cannot make it this Saturday, but would be interested in either dancing, helping out at the Volkstanzfest or maybe even becoming a sponsor, please contact the Harmonie German club.
Best regards"
